10 Nosy Questions

Describe your life in a nutshell. Beautiful Chaos.

What book do you recommend to everyone – even people who don’t ask? Anything dragon by Katie MacAlister – She makes me laugh more than I thought possible. It’s refreshing since I tend to write so dark.

Which of your quirks have you written into a character? There is a particularly large quirk that my lovely boyfriend suffers from daily – my inability to not take things literally. Puns, idioms, and other linguistic phrases send me into confusion far more than they should. It was something that I incorporated into one of my main heroines, Freya. It works well for her because she has a dark past where she never spent time around other kids or having fun. Her mind is very black and white and so is her communication. More than once she says the lin, “that’s what you said even if it’s not what you meant. Say what you mean next time.” I know I’ve said that several times after I have answered something terribly wrong because of idioms.

Have you written someone who was rude into a book so you could get eternal payback? Yep. There was an old roommate of mine that made my life unbearable for several months. She makes an appearance as the eternal antagonist for a shifter series I’m planning for in late 2020.

Which book boyfriend would you run away with? Vlad Tepesh from the Night Prince Series by Jeaniene Frost. He may be a super alpha type of vampire that can burn his enemies to death with a snap of the fingers, but the love and loyalty he is capable of is what romance books are made of.

Have you ever taken a book-cation? I haven’t. Not in real life anyway. In times of stress or life taking a turn, I’ve definitely daydreamed of some fantastic places that books I like to read are placed in. Even if I had a few billion dollars and the brightest minds in the world, I probably couldn’t travel to some of the star systems I would love to see.

What Fandom do you geek out over? Star Trek – Yes. TNG is the best of them all! The episodes that resonated with me the most revolved around Data and the concept of humanity. At what point is something considered alive or having rights? As far as geeking out, it’s not like I know every single characters and ship, but in how brilliant Gene Roddenberry was in discussing important social, environmental, and other controversial issues without viewers feeling like they were being preached to. Every episode deals with a very real problem that viewers can relate to in their own life.

Does anyone in your family read your books? If they do can they look you in the eye at Thanksgiving? Hahaha, seeing how I write romance, and it’s out there romance not contemporary, pretty much no one in my family reads them. Half my family doesn’t read and the other groans the moment romance is mentioned. They’re more into full-on SciFi or thriller, which is fine. I incorporate all that but with romance.

How many more stories are rattling around in your brain trying to get out? Oh man, that’s a hard one. Vengeance Unveiled is the start to a trilogy. I’ve already started planning a spin-off space mercenaries series that will incorporate some of the Vengeance characters. Then I want to do a bioengineered Navy Seals Series where they are basically badass mermen/ maids which could be any number of books. After that I have plans for a shifter/ vampire series where I already have seven books planned out.

What did you have the most fun with in your last novel? I think my favorite part was seeing how I could bend the society. Chaos is a particularly fun thing to interject into a book to see what I can come up with and make work for a new planet. Turning aspects of society the reader would relate to and flip-flopping them, well it was always something I enjoyed reading.
