10 Nosy Questions

Describe your life in a nutshell. I live in California with my family, where I write and edit while the kiddos are in school. My cat, Tiny, is my office mate. I write m/f paranormal romance on my own and reverse harem paranormal romance with Keira Blackwood. Always with shifters, sometimes with vampries, witches, and other fun supernatural beings.

What book do you recommend to everyone – even people who don’t ask? I am always recommending ‘Hyperbole and a Half’ by Allie Brosch because I think it’s universally funny for readers and nonreaders alike.

Which of your quirks have you written into a character? Creative and colorful swearing, and seeking comfort in the arms of beloved book stories.

Have you written someone who was rude into a book so you could get eternal payback? I might take some vengeance out on the pages. My friend’s husband cheated and left her, and now he has the honor of being the first name of a villain.

Which book boyfriend would you run away with? Of my books? Tough question – I only write them if I love them already. I really like Ben in Savage Redemption though. Oh, or Aiden in Hope Reclaimed, which I wrote with Keira Blackwood. Or Slade in the Spellbound Shifters: Dragons Entwined series (also written with Keira.)

Have you ever taken a book-cation? I haven’t but it sounds lovely! I’ve gone on plenty of writing retreats, though, which is basically my author friends and me hanging out with our laptops – writing all day and sharing new scenes in the evenings.

What Fandom do you geek out over? Harry Potter and Firefly are my top two.

Does anyone in your family read your books? If they do can they look you in the eye at Thanksgiving? Nope. I have asked them not to, and I’m pretty sure they won’t. If they do they get what they deserve.

How many more stories are rattling around in your brain trying to get out? Sigh … so many.

What did you have the most fun with in your last novel? My latest novel, Savage Penance, is coming out in just a couple of days. I would say the most fun I had with it was the magic. Figuring out some of the rules and magical systems governing the heroine’s spellwork was a total blast. Also, the hero’s horror at anything to do with children at the start of the novel was pretty freaking fun too.

Never have a one night stand with a shifter.

  1. They’re intense, growly lovers and they bite – hard.
  2. You risk them claiming you as their “fated mate” and never leaving you alone again.
  3. Even if you manage to get rid of the guy, you might be carrying his baby.

Gwyneth knew better. She could tell right away that Doug was a shifter, but it didn’t matter. He was too hot to let go. One night of fun never hurt anybody, right?

Well, she was right about one thing – it was only the one night.

As soon as Doug knew Gwyn was pregnant, he did what any douche, malcontented, irredeemable shifter would do – he ran fast and he ran far.

But when his inner mountain lion drives him back into Gwyn’s arms, Doug learns that danger waits at every turn. Wooing his mate and learning how to be a good father are the least of his worries.

Savage Penance is a standalone novel in the Fierce Mates: Corona Pride series. If hot, bad boy shifters make you howl and smart, resourceful heroines make you happy, one-click Savage Penance for some hot sexy tension and heart-melting romance.
