10 Nosy Questions
Describe your life in a nutshell.
I’m a busy SAHM with five kids (ages 13-19). I left the professional world of DC behind to move with my hubby and kids to NC, so I could spend more time with them. I also care for my elderly mom who lives with us. All this keeps me crazy busy but I needed something more. That “more” was a return to my childhood love of writing. While running kids to practices or sitting in the stands during swim meets, my laptop is my constant companion because the characters and plots in my head won’t be silent and insist on being written. It’s a crazy life, but I love it.
What book do you recommend to everyone – even people who don’t ask?
Embodied Grace: A Woman’s Path to Empowerment by Jennifer Lonnberg is a must-read for every woman.
Which of your quirks have you written into a character?
My obsession with french fries and my favorite cocktail called a Godfather (Half scotch/ half amaretto).
Have you written someone who was rude into a book so you could get eternal payback?
Which book boyfriend would you run away with?
Gage Gallagher, from Randi Cooley Wilson’s “The Revelation Series.”
Have you ever taken a book-cation?
Most are still on my bucket list – Ireland, Trinity College Library (all places in Book 3 of my “Greylyn the Guardian Angel” Series. However, Book 1 of the series details places I am very familiar with – the B&B where most of the action takes place was where I was married. I lived in Washington, DC for several years (other scenes from the book.) Philippa Gregory books about the Tudors have me desperate to visit England.
What Fandom do you geek out over?
Supernatural (tv series), Star Wars (original three movies only), Gail Z Martin series “Deadly Curiosities”, and Cassandra Clare’s series “The Mortal Instruments.”
Does anyone in your family read your books? If they do can they look you in the eye at Thanksgiving?
My mom and my mom-in-law read the cozy mysteries I ghost write for a client. They were ‘clean’. I’ve allowed my hubby to read my romance short stories in the “Bowman’s Inn” Anthology and “After Dark” Anthology. He really liked them.
How many more stories are rattling around in your brain trying to get out?
Oh goodness, there are so many. I would like to do another series of guardian angels based on my supporting character in this series, Jasper. I would like to collaborate with an author-friend from South Africa to have Jasper go on an adventure with one of her characters that I adore. There is a special-ops/ military/ some romance story banging around in my noggin begging to get out. Plenty of paranormal romance stories based on Tudor England that would be so much fun to write. My husband thinks I should write books about the craziness of my life with five kids – definitely comedy material. And there are so many more …
What did you have the most fun with in your last novel?
A lot of the scenery in Rekindled Prophecy, Book 1 of the Greylyn the Guardian Angel series was based on real places. It was fun incorporating those places in with fantastic characters who bring it to life.
