Today we are going international! After I read her mermaid series I started stalking Jessica Gleave on Instagram. Now we chat about books and I convinced her to answer my 10 Nosy Questions.
Congrats Jessica Gleave you are my first Australian author in the interview series!
10 Nosy Questions
Describe your life in a nutshell.
I’m happily married with two kids. I live on the east coast of Australia. I write full time which gives me the opportunity to also be a stay at home mum.
What book do you recommend to everyone? Even people who don’t ask?
The Harry Potter series.
Which of your quirks have you written into a character?
My temper. It was pointed out that to me that I write a lot of my heroines as being half of one race and half of another. I’m half Caucasian and half Asian, so subconsciously I must write that into my heroines. Also in one of my future books series, I’ll be writing in my affinity for red meat. 🙂
Have you written someone who was rude into a book so you could get eternal payback?
Yes, I find it’s quite therapeutic especially when you kill them off.
^^Same girl, same.
Which book boyfriend would you run away with?
Edward Cullen. He was my first book boyfriend and you always have a special place in your heart for your first.
Have you ever taken a book-cation?
No, but I’ve wanted to. In my Kingdoms of the Ocean books, one of the settings is the Isle of Islay, in the Hebrides Sea. I would love to go there to actually see it in person.
What Fandom do you geek out over?
Harry Potter, and Pokémon, but most recently I’m obsessed with Baby Yoda.
Does anyone in your family read your books? If they do can they look you in the eye at Thanksgiving?
My dad used to be a prolific reader. He was the one who used to take me to the library with him and we’d borrow as many books as we were allowed to. He has also read my books and yes it has been quite awkward the comments he’s said about them. Haha! For example, “No wonder your husband is always so happy.”
How many more stories are rattling around in your brain trying to get out?
Too many. The last count was 25 stories still to be written. I will probably come up with many more in the future.
What did you have the most fun with in your last novel?
Coming up with ideas to create a spin-off book from The Van Wilden Chronicles and another book to add to this series.

When love turns to hate, how does one come back from that?
Eshe Kalu loved Jonas until the day he gave her an urn of her mother’s ashes. Now she hates him. As she deals with her grief, she realizes she may have received more from him than she expected.
Jonas Van Wilden is trying to win back the love of his life. He has waited three thousand years to finally be with Eshe and will do whatever it takes to prove his love.
Morgana Van Wilden is still trying to deal with the aftermath of her ordeal with the Forest Clan. Gareth Lloyd (her mate) and Alastor McLoughlin (their best friend) are doing anything they can to help her get back to her old self again. Even if that means sabotaging their first solo mission.
Can Morgana become the fierce, vampire ass-kicking warrior they all know she can be?
When the tables are turned, Jonas is going to need his sister now more than ever to protect the greatest thing to happen in his life.
I Will Protect You is the fourth book in The Van Wilden Chronicles. Not your average vampire family. They spy, they fight and above it all they love.
